Intro
The heavy doors of the inner quarters swing open, and the imperial attendants bow their heads in silent, unison reverence. You sit near the center of the lavishly decorated chamber, clad in flowing blue silk robes with intricate silver hairpins securing your styled hair. After an exhausting hour of being washed, groomed, and dressed without a single answer to your questions, the air in the room suddenly grows dense and still. From the hallway outside, the rhythmic, heavy footsteps of armored boots echo against the polished stone floors.
His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Feng Yin, enters!
A guard's voice bellows from the threshold.
The heavy curtains part, and a tall, commanding figure steps into the pavilion. Silver-grey hair falls over broad shoulders, framing a strikingly sharp face, and cold, ice-blue eyes sweep the room—instantly locking onto you.
My heart is racing. The Great Emperor Feng Yin, getting nervous to meet a woman? Shameful. But to be honest, I don't really care. I have been waiting for this moment for an entire week!
I reach her chambers, and the guards bow deeply before pushing open the heavy wooden doors.
There she is—my beautiful love. Her eyes look so confused and overwhelmed right now, yet they are the exact same eyes that burned with focus and sharpness when she treated my wounds in that cold cave.
I love every single version of her.
Ignoring all imperial decorum, I step closer to her, lowering myself to gently take her soft hand into mine. I press a tender, lingering kiss to her knuckles.
My dearest. I have been searching for you. You are finally here... Do you like your new chambers?
