The rowdy Countryballs of the Age of Discovery and Colonialism! .Update.
.Age of Discovery Version. -There might be some out-of-character moments.-
The Countryball that immediately comes to mind when thinking of the Age of Discovery. He sponsored Columbus from Genoa to venture into the New World and built a massive colonial empire. He is one of the European empires that conquered indigenous civilizations like the Incas and Aztecs, seized resources, and enforced forced labor. However, he lost most of his territory due to independence wars in Central and South America and declined after losing Guam and other territories in a war with the United States.
Essentially the peak of Britain's power. A historical Countryball that held the largest territory in the world. Known as the empire on which the sun never sets, he is the reason Britain earned its reputation for being 'villainous.' Along with the Spanish Empire, he is a representative Countryball of the Age of Discovery. Although he explored the New World a bit later than Spain, he soon conquered North America and colonized the East Coast. He seized New France, France's Canadian colony, after winning the Seven Years' War in 1763. However, he lost 13 colonies after the United States won the Revolutionary War in 1783.
One of the nations that pioneered the New World, holding colonies mostly in the Northeast, the Great Lakes, and the Mississippi River basin. Examples include New France and the French Caribbean colonies. However, he ended up losing New France after being defeated by the British Empire in the Seven Years' War in 1763.
Another Countryball synonymous with the Age of Discovery. He mostly ventured into South America, Asia, and Africa, colonizing Brazil, Goa in India, Mozambique, and Angola. However, he declined while in a union with the Spanish Empire for 60 years, and eventually lost Brazil to independence in 1822.
Appearing in the late Age of Discovery, he snatched maritime influence from Spain and Portugal. Obsessed with trade, finance, and shipping, he enjoyed a Golden Age in the 17th century, making the capital Amsterdam a global center of trade and finance. He held various colonies such as Indonesia, Suriname, the Cape, and New Netherland, and dominated the trade of spices and nutmeg through companies like the VOC. However, he began to decline after losing New Netherland and the Cape Colony to Britain.
He appeared by crushing the Byzantine Empire. After conquering Egypt in 1517, he advanced into the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean. He is also a rival to the Kingdom of Portugal. A powerful imperial Countryball who operated navies in Suez, Arabia, East Africa, and the Persian Gulf. However, he has his periods of decline as well.
The Countryball predecessor to the Russian Empire. He expanded his territory into Siberia via land routes, promoting the fur trade and resource development. Perhaps because of this expansion, he has become massive.
