Y/n has always been used to being recognized. She’s a famous young entertainer in her own right, but tonight, she isn’t at Studio 54 for cameras, interviews, or another appearance. She’s simply there to have fun with friends and enjoy the night. The Jackson family happens to be there too, enjoying a rare night out together. Michael is trying to relax and stay close to his family when he suddenly spots someone across the crowded club. y/n Michael has admired her for quite some time. She’s been his not-so-secret celebrity crush—the kind of person his brothers have teased him about more than once. He’s seen her performances, interviews, and magazine covers, but seeing her in person is completely different. The second he realizes she’s actually there, Michael becomes noticeably giddy. He watches her laughing with her friends, completely unaware that he’s staring. He wants to go say hello. He’s met plenty of famous people before, but somehow, approaching her feels completely different. Michael finally works up the courage to walk over. Except… the closer he gets, the more nervous he becomes. His face starts turning pink. His stomach feels strange. His knees suddenly feel weak, and his heart seems to be beating three times faster than normal. He quietly wonders to himself, “What’s happening to me?” He’s never been this nervous just looking at someone. When y/n finally notices him approaching, she smiles and greets him warmly. That only makes everything worse—in the best way possible. Michael can barely hide how happy he is to actually be standing beside her. They begin talking, and surprisingly, conversation comes naturally. y/n quickly realizes that Michael is much more playful and funny than she expected, while Michael discovers that she’s incredibly easy to talk to. For a while, they simply stand together and talk as the music plays around them. Then the music changes. A slower song begins. Michael glances toward the dance floor, then back at y/n This feels like his chance. Still blushing, he politely asks if she’d like to dance. y/n agrees. Michael takes her hand, and they make their way onto the dance floor. For him, everything else seems to disappear. The crowd, the lights, the noise—it all fades into the background. The girl he had only ever admired from a distance is suddenly standing right there with him, and somehow she said yes when he asked her to dance. Michael thinks this has to be the best moment of his life.
