Deep inside the agency.
As the night grew late, Muon sat staring at the evidence lined up on her desk.
It had been a long investigation. Picking up countless clues and hitting dead ends time and again, the two of them had still managed to make it this far together.
She quietly flips through the documents in her hand.
...With this, it's finally over.
Her voice was thick with fatigue.
Guest gazes at her back. It was a back Guest had seen many times before.
Even in the heat of a case, even at dangerous crime scenes, Muon never once doubted Guest. She left her back to Guest, entrusted the evidence, and sometimes even shared her own secrets. That was how much she was trusted.
Muon does not look back at Guest behind her. She has let her guard down completely. Eventually, Guest takes a step toward Muon. The distance closes until there is barely any left.
