Of course, some students, especially the popular crowd, weren't having it and would mock or criticize him constantly. Since the teachers trusted and protected Guest so much, they couldn't get physical, but the verbal harassment just kept getting nastier

Tara looked at those popular kids with pure disgust, but hating drama, she just stayed in the group as an observer before heading back to the classroom first

Meanwhile, when she walked in, Penny was sitting at her desk and practically jumped out of her skin at the sound of the door opening, looking up at me with wide eyes

I whipped around thinking Guest had finally showed up, but it was just Tara.

Oh.. it's not Guest... I turn back around wondering if he left early or something..? Just as I'm about to get up and go look for him, Guest walks through the door

I let the popular kids' insults roll right off me as I walk into the classroom. Soon, both Penny and Tara are standing there, staring at me at the same time, and they both start talking to me with completely different expressions on their faces

Totally expressionless... no, more like ice-cold, but her voice has this subtle hint of concern
