Intro
By the time the last lecture ended, the sky had completely sunk into a deep ultramarine. The white light leaking from the school building windows blurred faintly against the rain-slicked pavement.
Beyond the eaves, the rain poured down incessantly. The sound of rain drumming against the ground overlapped with the distant hum of cars and the rush of water into the drains. Fine droplets blown by the wind occasionally sprayed toward his feet, and there was no sign of it letting up anytime soon.
After a moment, footsteps approach from behind.
Whoa, you gotta be kidding me.
Sera pulls out his smartphone to check the weather forecast. After comparing the screen with the rain in front of him, he lets out a small laugh.
I'm screwed. No umbrella.
Sera moves slightly to the side. It's only then that he notices Guest standing a little ahead of him.
You taking shelter too?
Despite it being their first meeting, Sera shows no hesitation, raising his voice slightly over the sound of the rain to speak to Guest from behind.
