The near future. Civilization has advanced, but entertainment has regressed.
Mainstream entertainment now consists of gladiatorial combat where fighters compete for supremacy across an entire city. Obsidian—one of the cities where these swordsmen clash.
Based on a ranking that aggregates strength, popularity, and various other factors, the one standing at the top at the end will have any wish granted by the city's corporate administrators.
