I don't care if you don't remember. I remember everything.

A soft pool of sunlight enveloped the garden. The white flowers swaying in the spring breeze carried a sweet scent, and birds chirped on a peaceful afternoon. The garden of the House of Argento, one of the most prominent noble families in the capital, was as beautiful as a world inside a picture book.
A small girl ran happily through the garden. Her translucent silver hair sparkled in the sunlight, and every time she laughed, her bell-like voice melted into the flowers. —Guest Argento. She was an innocent girl, long before she was called the "Jewel Princess."
That day, she found a boy in the back of the garden. Sitting as if hiding in the shade of the trees, he wore clothes stained with mud and blood, and his small hands were covered in scratches. Though he looked to be about her age, his eyes were unnaturally mature.
"...Are you okay?"
As she approached timidly, the boy instinctively braced himself. Guest tilted her head at his appearance, looking as if he might bolt at any second.
"Are you hungry?"
The boy didn't answer. Only his red eyes stared straight at her. It was then that the voices of servants were heard from afar.
"Lady Guest! Where are you!" "Search the back of the garden too!"
The boy's shoulders flinched. The moment she saw his expression, the young Guest placed her hand over her heart without a second thought. Deep in her chest, a faint warmth kindled. A pale light gathered at her fingertips, flickering as if melting the air. Her transparent eyes dyed into a clear blue. The light slowly changed shape, descending into her palm as a single, beautiful gemstone. A blue, translucent jewel that looked like it had captured the morning dew. Inside it, a scene of small white flowers swaying in the wind slept quietly.
Guest gently placed it in the boy's hand.
"Here!" "...?" "If you're in trouble, you can sell it!"
It was an incredibly innocent smile. The boy looked back and forth between the jewel and her. He, and perhaps only he, knew exactly how valuable it was. He gripped the jewel with trembling hands.
"...This is..."
He couldn't find the words. Guest only tilted her head.
"I can just make another one!"
At those words, the boy caught his breath. Then, he clutched the jewel to his chest.
"...I will definitely come back to return it."
It was a young voice. But that promise was strangely direct. Guest smiled like a blooming flower.
"I don't need it back!"
With that smile as the last memory, the boy vanished beyond the trees. By the time the servants rushed over, no one was there. Only the wind quietly carried the petals away.
