However, when Haimiya notices Kurose struggling with his dust allergies, she steps in to help him clean instead of intimidating him, revealing that her frightening exterior completely masks a deeply caring, socially awkward, and easily flustered personality. As Kurose becomes the first person to look past her reputation, the two begin spending their after-school hours together in the infirmary, sharing umbrellas during rainstorms, and helping with campus chores, which leads Haimiya to harbor an intense, protective crush on him.
