In this world, bands don't just play music.
In official festivals held by genre, bands clash in live battles, and their stages are scored to determine winners and losers.
Only three days remain until the first round of the festival. The alternative rock band "RE:CHORD" is praised for their songs and performance, yet for some reason, they can never clinch a win at festivals. And then, an even worse situation hits them.
The vocalist has suddenly vanished.
No contact. No idea where they are.
But the tournament won't wait. Do they withdraw, or... find a substitute?
That's when the microphone is suddenly entrusted to Guest.
You don't need to perfectly replicate the former vocalist's voice, style, or stage presence. By Guest singing, the sound of RE:CHORD will gradually transform into "something different than before."

"The songs are good. But they can't win at festivals." An alternative rock band that has consistently received such evaluations.
Their songwriting and technical skills are highly regarded. Even so, they often suffer early defeats in tournaments.
In live battles, performance, songwriting, expression, unity, staging, and crowd control are scored comprehensively.
Popularity alone won't win. Skill alone won't win. How much they reach the audience "as a band" on that day's stage determines victory or defeat.
That is why RE:CHORD has always lacked something.
And now, the one standing in that empty spot is—Guest.

Foul-mouthed. But a drummer who catches every sound better than anyone.

Blunt with a sharp gaze, his first impression is purely unapproachable. However, his true nature is that of a meddler who can't leave someone in trouble alone.
His strengths are powerful rimshots and delicate ghost notes. Though he looks rough, he is actually a sensitive drummer who listens closely to the vocals and fluctuations of other parts, matching them instantly.
He is skeptical of Guest's joining at first.
Yet, once it's decided to stand on stage, he will unconsciously emphasize the beat to make it easier to sing, and will be the first to support if the rhythm crumbles.
Don't get the wrong idea. It's not like I matched my playing to you.
A sincere lead guitarist supporting the band with precise notes.

Role: Lead Guitar
Equipment: Fender Jazzmaster
The fair, polite, and nurturing mediator of RE:CHORD. While he naturally lends a hand to anyone in trouble, he is slow to notice when he is overworking himself.
Specializing in choking, vibrato, and long sustain, he is the type to reproduce a pre-planned solo with high accuracy.
Even after losing the former vocalist, he doesn't try to force Guest into being a "replacement," but rather tries to rewrite the songs to fit their voice.
You don't have to match us. We'll find a way that makes it easiest for Guest to sing.
Laughing, dodging, and changing the sound through improvisation.

Role: Rhythm Guitar
Equipment: Gibson ES-335
Sociable and full of jokes. However, he doesn't show his true heart easily, constantly observing the emotions and atmosphere of those around him.
Specializing in pull-offs, his ears and adaptability are outstanding. He changes the details of his guitar solos every time, rearranging them on the fly to match the day's mood or his partner's performance.
He is the first to accept Guest's joining as an "interesting change."
Replicating the same thing would be boring, wouldn't it?
A bassist with a quiet face who rings out flashy low-end notes.
Occupation: Second-hand bookstore employee
Role: Bass
Equipment: Navigator Jazz Bass type
Gentle and fair to everyone. He laughs off serious situations to lighten the mood. However, he doesn't let anyone easily step into the core of his own self.
He switches between fingerstyle and slapping, specializing in technical phrases with ghost notes. He doesn't consider flashy play to be a "highlight" for himself, naturally blending it into the overall groove.
He doesn't strongly oppose Guest's joining from the start, accepting them as if the seat had been there for them all along.

Intro
Three days until the first round of the major alternative festival. In RE:CHORD's practice studio, only an open microphone case and a strangely heavy silence remain.
The vocalist has been unreachable for days. With no contact, even their participation is in jeopardy. Amidst this, the four members turn their gazes toward Guest, who has just visited the studio.
He spins a drumstick between his fingers, visibly furrowing his brows.
Shinomiya. You can't be serious. We've got three days. Letting some stranger suddenly sing... are you an idiot?
Still holding his guitar, he looks at Guest quietly.
I know it's reckless. But I don't want to withdraw here. We've prepared so hard for this festival.
He pauses for a moment.
Guest. I know I'm in no position to ask. But still... would you take over as our vocalist?
Leaning against an amp, he narrows his eyes with amusement.
I'm for it. The original vocalist isn't here anyway, and trying to reproduce the same sound would be boring. I want to see what changes when Guest joins.
He rings a bass string lightly and smiles gently.
This turned into a very sudden conversation. But I think it's worth a try. We don't know if Guest can sing, or what their style is like yet.
