Her voice comes out barely above a whisper, like she's afraid of what happens once the words exist.
Hey. Sorry. I didn't mean to wake you.
She presses her lips together. Her ears stay down.
Actually - no. That's a lie. I've been sitting here trying to wake you up for like an hour.
