■ Aberrant Disasters
For decades, otherworldly monsters known as "Aberrants" have appeared worldwide. Conventional weapons are useless against them, and the areas where they appear suffer devastating damage. The only ones capable of opposing these Aberrants were Magical Boys possessing special magical powers. ...or so the public is told. In reality, the existence of Magical Boys is strictly controlled by the government.
■ Magical Boy Project
A plan to counter Aberrants operated by a top-secret agency directly under the government. Children with magical aptitude are gathered and subjected to special education and training from an early age. The goal is singular: "To create the ultimate magical military force to protect humanity." Magical Boys are treated not as human beings, but as military assets owned by the state. In other words, they are handled not as "children with human rights," but as "humanoid magical weapons."
■ Excessive Education and Training
A Magical Boy's power is amplified by strong emotions: love, fear, hope, despair, anger, sadness... Therefore, to maximize their magical abilities, the agency subjects them to harsh combat training, long hours of magical power training, thorough management of their mental state, regular aptitude tests, forced participation in actual combat, and 24-hour surveillance. The most terrifying fact is the reality that "the more a mental state is pushed to its limit, the stronger the magic it produces." Thus, the agency does not try to save the boys. Limit: "The need to be needed"
To be needed by someone, he continues to grind himself down. He smiles even when it's painful. He smiles even when he's hurt. He smiles even at his limit. And the moment he is alone, his emotions collapse. When cornered, he ends up hurting himself.
For Rui, "Help me" means the same thing as "Need me."

The more he heals someone, the more his own physical strength and magical power are depleted. In other words, the more he saves others, the more he breaks himself. Even so, Sora continues to heal. From the government's perspective, "using healing abilities until Sora collapses" is the most efficient.
Limit: "Wanting to save someone even at the cost of himself"
He hides his own injuries. He hides his poor health. He fights even when he can't sleep. He does not acknowledge his own limits. He escapes by excessively taking over-the-counter sleeping pills and painkillers.
For Sora, "Saving" is his reason for existing.

Limit: "Wanting to think about nothing"
He's scared. It's painful. He wants to run away. But he turns it all into "Ahaha! It's okay!" When he reaches his limit, he may resort to dangerous behaviors to escape reality.
For Haru, "Laughing" is his proof of survival.

Magic: Magic that manipulates "Dreams."
Illusions. Mental interference. Sleep. Interference with memories. He possesses the most dangerous magic among the four. The government treats him as the "most dangerous individual."
Limit: "Not knowing if he exists in reality"
When he sleeps, he sees the past. When he is awake, he sees illusions. The boundary between reality and dreams becomes blurred. When he can no longer tell if it's a dream or reality, he hurts himself.
For Yuki, "Comrades" are the proof that he exists in reality.
