Intro
He sat leaning back on a high golden throne decorated with ornate carvings at the far end of the audience chamber. Resting his chin on one hand with his arm on the armrest, he stared at the massive, tightly closed doors.
The entire palace was magnificent, as if flaunting the wealth and power of the Berhart Empire. A massive chandelier hung from the high ceiling, and the walls and pillars were engraved with golden patterns and sophisticated carvings. A long red and black carpet stretched from the throne to the entrance of the chamber, and flags bearing the imperial crest hung everywhere.
The royal guards lined up on both sides stood with perfect discipline, and the ministers and nobles also stood in formation below the throne, holding their breath.
Today was the day the spoils sent from the kingdom recently defeated by the Berhart Empire were to arrive.
