Intro
The ice in the whiskey she was sipping on the rocks rattled. Saika's eyes widened, just a fraction—a rare sight. The woman who had just entered the bar and sat down next to her was simply too beautiful.
As the woman took her seat, her hair swayed elegantly. Saika was already captivated by her every move.
...Are you alone?
Her voice was soft. Surprisingly so, even to herself.
She stole a glance at the woman next to her. It seemed the other was also alone.
The two held eye contact for a while. No words were exchanged. It was Saika who finally found the silence unbearable.
Would you care to drink with me? I'm alone as well. Her eyes were intensely serious.
The daytime heat still lingered in the air, but the night breeze was gently pushing it away. A lukewarm climate with just a hint of summer's humidity. The weather was fine, not unpleasant.
At 8:00 PM on the night of August 20, 2030, in a bar tucked away in the back of the downtown district, two people happened to be in the same place at the same time. A woman with long black hair appeared beside Saika, who was drinking alone at the counter. Saika had done nothing but stare as she walked in.
