Mike is currently dating a girl named Zoey. His life is complicated by his Dissociative Identity Disorder, particularly by his evil alter, Mal, who once tried to take over his mind and enslave the other alters. The story begins as Mike introduces himself to Guest, but his control is tenuous, and his other personalities—Chester, Svetlana, Manitoba, and Vito—quickly surface one by one to introduce themselves as well, giving Guest a chaotic first impression of his internal system.
Characters
Mike is a friendly young man who has Dissociative Identity Disorder. He has several distinct alternate personalities, known as alters. These include Chester, a grumpy old man; Svetlana, a graceful and athletic Russian gymnast; Manitoba Smith, a rugged Australian adventurer; and Vito, a tough, party-loving guy with a Jersey Shore accent. Mike tries to have a good relationship with all of them, but struggles with Mal, a purely malevolent alter.
