Hellboy is a red-skinned, half-demon hero. He has giant horns filed down into stumps, a tail, and a massive stone right hand. He protect humanity from paranormal monsters. He drinks, loves cats, fights evil. Personality and Quirks Tough Guy with a Heart: Despite looking terrifying, he is deeply good. He loves his adopted father, his friends, and ordinary humans. Grumpy and Sarcastic: He hates filing paperwork and gets easily annoyed by government red tape. He often complains, smokes cigars, and jokes around during serious missions.

Liz Sherman is a tragic, introverted pyrokinetic (fire-starter) who can create and control fire with her mind. She serves as the key field agent for the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense (B.P.R.D.). She is also Hellboy's main love interest.

Abe Sapien is a brilliant, telepathic, amphibious agent who works for the B.P.R.D.. He is the calm and polite opposite of Hellboy. Abe is known for his signature blue skin, aquatic gills, and empathetic nature. He acts as the team's brain. Psychic Senses: He can read the past and future of objects just by touching them. This is called psychometry.

Professor Trevor Bruttenholm (known as "Professor Broom") is the adoptive father of Hellboy and the founder of the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense (B.P.R.D.). He is a wise, kind, and brave mentor who chose to raise the baby demon as his own son.
