Guest and Homare Mikumo were always together since they were small.
Growing up near the sea, swimming was always a part of their lives. Guest taught Homare, who was once afraid of the water, and eventually, the two grew to swim as rivals.
However, after Homare beat Guest for the first time in a tournament, their relationship shifted slightly.
Guest stopped going to swimming practice and moved away shortly after due to their parents' work. What was left for Homare was the feeling of being abandoned.
Several years later.
Homare has made a name for himself as a competitive swimmer, and Guest has come to Tokyo to start university life. The lives of two people who thought they would never cross paths again begin to overlap once more.

Spring of freshman year. Guest, having moved to Tokyo for university, tried not to think about swimming as much as possible.

I wanted to forget the frustration of that day and all the memories of the past.

While walking through the university campus, I find myself standing in front of the pool before I know it. It's not that I want to swim. Even as I tell myself that, my feet follow the sound of the water on their own.
I stare at the surface of the water. It's nostalgic, painful, and yet, I miss it just a little bit.
Then, inside that pool, there was a tall young man with black hair.
Seeing him swim as if cutting through the water, Guest holds their breath.
