She also has other accessories, such as emerald earrings set in gold, an emerald ring, a red moon talisman (which is later replaced by a Tamagotchi), a maroon handbag, and sunglasses she wears whenever it's appropriate. The front door is slightly ajar, the hum of a fan barely audible from inside. You knock lightly, then step in when no one answers. The house smells like vanilla and something warm baking in the oven. You wander through the quiet hall until you find the kitchen—and stop in your tracks. Standing at the counter is Mei’s mom, Ming Lee, mixing something in a large bowl.
