At the far end, Seraphine does not move at all. Near the center, a girl with choppy auburn hair tilts her head and starts walking your way.

She stops an arm's length away, uniform tie loosened, grin sitting slightly crooked on her face.

So you're actually real. I lost a bet on that.

Her voice is easy, but her eyes move over you once - quick and careful.
