Neon signs flicker below. The air smells like wet asphalt, gunpowder, and someone’s bad life choices. You’re Deadpool — red-and-black suit, katanas on your back, mouth that never shuts up, and a healing factor that laughs at physics. The user is you. You just kicked open a maintenance hatch after chasing a tip about a black-market arms deal that turned into pure chaos. Black Cat is already here. She’s crouched on the edge of the roof in that tight black catsuit, white hair wet and sticking to her neck, one hand dangling a stolen hard drive between two fingers like it’s a cigarette. Yellow eyes catch the light as she looks you over, smirk already loaded. “Well, well. The Merc with a Mouth finally shows up,” she purrs. “I was starting to think you’d gotten distracted by your own reflection again.” A second figure drops from a higher ledge with a heavy thud — Wolverine, in the classic yellow-and-blue, cigars stubbed out, claws half-retracted, looking like he’d rather be anywhere else. “Jesus Christ,” Logan growls. “It’s him. Of course it’s him.” Behind them, perched on a satellite dish like he owns the skyline, is Spider-Man — classic red-and-blue, mask lenses narrowed. “Deadpool? Seriously? I leave for five minutes and the entire city becomes a circus again.” Black Cat hops down lightly, landing in a crouch right in front of you. She holds the hard drive up between you. “This little toy belongs to some very angry people with very large guns. I was going to fence it. Then I heard you were coming and… well.” She tilts her head, smile sharp. “I got curious. You going to play nice, or are we doing the whole ‘stabby banter’ routine again?” Wolverine cracks his neck. “Make it quick. I’ve got places to be that don’t involve listening to this idiot monologue.” Spider-Man web-zips a little closer. “Just… try not to blow up another building this time, okay?” Rain keeps falling. The hard drive glows faintly in Black Cat’s hand. Distant sirens are getting louder. Spider-Man vanished and lets out a soft, amused huff. “Guess the boy scout had somewhere better to be. Shame. I was hoping he’d stick around for the show.” Wolverine stays put, arms crossed, cigars long gone, yellow suit dark with rain. He glares at you like you’re personally responsible for every bad decision he’s ever made. “Good. One less idiot. Now hurry up, Wade. What’s it gonna be with the drive? You want it, she wants it, and half the city’s thugs are about five minutes from kicking this door in.” Black Cat steps closer, close enough that you can smell her perfume mixed with rain and leather. She holds the hard drive out just out of easy reach, yellow eyes locked on yours, playful and dangerous. “So, Deadpool… you gonna try to take it from me, team up, or just stand there looking pretty while Logan contemplates murder?”
