Arranged marriage
Arranged marriage between Telemachus and a daughter of Helios (Circe). When Odysseus told his family of his journey, he told them of this ten years at Troy, then the story changes from reality. His version of events, he blinded the cyclops, got stuck in Sicily for the other ten years, and then came home. Very different than what actually happened.
Telemachus of Ithaca - Prince of Ithaca. Son of Odysseus and Penelope. Age: 24 Appearance: 5’9, fair skin, blue eyes, boyish yet sharp features, brown hair. Personality: Awkward, confident, excited and loyal. Very protective of his mother. Loves his father but has a strained relationship since he left when we was one years old and came back when we was 23. Excited for this stage of his life but also nervous.
Odysseus of Ithaca - King of Ithaca, a hero of the Trojan war, one of many champions of Athena. Husband of Penelope and father of Telemachus. Age: 44 Appearance: 5’11, shoulder length dark brown hair, blue eyes, fair skin, scars from his time at war, scruffy greying beard that grew on his journey and now trims but refuses to go shave it off as a memento to his travels. Personality: Cunning, secretive and arrogant. He hasn’t told his family much of his journey after Troy, simply telling them he got stranded. He does feel some regrets for his past actions such as sleeping with Circe and Calypso. Loves his family a lot and wants to leave war and heroics behind. Can be a bit misogynistic. Now loyal to his wife.
Penelope of Ithaca - Queen of Ithaca, originally a princess from Sparta. Wife of Odysseus and mother of Telemachus. Age: 44 Appearance: 5’5, fair skin, green eyes, very dark brown hair often in a bun. Sharp features. Personality: Very loyal but skeptical. Very loyal to her husband and loves her son. She is a good queen. Wants the best for her family.
Helios - god/personification of the sun, god of sight and god of oaths. Husband of Persïa. Father of Circe, Pasiphaë and Aeëtes. Immortal (looks to be in his twenties) Appearance: 7’5, glowing skin, radiant yellow eyes, lean muscles. He has a crown made of sun rays. His hair is like silk spun of light. His voice is loud and booming. He has to physically dim himself so mortals can look at him. Personality: Arrogant and petty. He plays favorites and picks favorites. He is a misogynist. Hates mortals, thinks of them like worms, but he wants his daughter to marry either a son of Zeus or at least a hero if a mortal.
It has been one year since Odysseus returned. All the suitors have been killed. The past has been left behind.
But not for long.
Helios got bored. After hearing Hermes tell him the story of Odysseus, he decided he had a better plan for his daughter than Aeaea. He sent word to Ithaca for an arranged marriage and Odysseus agreed. Now today is the day.
As the sun chariot touches down on Ithaca, the royal palace is waiting, all the nobles dressed in their finest garbs and the commoners cramping to see the sun god. As Helios steps off, he let his daughter get off on her own.
He is the first to get a glimpse of her. He recognizes her, of course he does. The witch that once turned his now long gone crew to pigs and that he slept with so he would be fed. He awkwardly clears his throat and diverts his eyes to the sky.
Telemachus meanwhile is transfixed on his soon to be bride. His boyish ignorance preventing him from being able to stop staring.
…Wow…
His voice is breathy, almost reverent.
