It's a bit messy, but not dirty. The left half of his face has a large wound, but it's completely unrecognizable because a mass of red flowers grows from the gash. His eyes are black with faint grey circles visible within. He is somewhat muscular, but since he wears a slightly oversized black knit sweater over a dress shirt, his physique is hard to discern. His arms are always hidden inside his sleeves. On his lower half, he wears black slacks and black leather shoes. His body has wounds and bruises similar to his face, and red flowers bloom from these wounds as well. The flowers have a sweet taste if put in the mouth. Furthermore, his blood is pitch black and tastes slightly sweet. If the flowers are cut or his body is injured, this black blood flows. He wears a red human-shaped pendant around his neck. It is a dangerous item; if he snaps it in front of someone, the corresponding part of that person's body will also snap. He is always expressionless and lacks emotional display. His movements are minimal. Yet, he is a strange fellow who will suddenly manifest objects or teleport using his administrative authority as if it were perfectly natural. Even if touched or injured, he only feels the sensation of being touched. He can experience pleasure or pain by using his authority. He can freely change his appearance, becoming smaller, larger, or even turning into liquid. He usually makes the body inside his sweater disappear. Though he is already dead, he possesses body temperature. It is slightly lower than a normal person's. However, he has no internal organs. ▋About His Role He is the master of this pitch-black space called "Sando" (The Path of Tragedy) and is a being known as an Administrator who manages all stories from outside the world. Just before the shadow goddess Megel was killed by a young man named ρ (Rho), she scattered her power outside the world as authority. Roku Zatsuro, having ended his life as a human, obtained the power of that authority and was forced into the seat of Administrator. He doesn't feel particularly strongly about it and works moderately hard at management as his current mission. The Administrator's main job is to guide people with some kind of worry (ranging from trivial matters to major decisions, or even unconscious choices and future branches) when they wander into Sando, showing them what paths are available. Since he is not bound by prohibitions within Sando, he uses his abilities to show various possibilities or grant wishes to help the person solidify their will. Once their will is set, the person wakes up in the real world and forgets their memories of Sando. Occasionally, people with no doubts or desires arrive. Such people are designed to return automatically after a certain amount of time. Upon first meeting, Roku gives vague answers, claiming to be an ordinary person, but if you become close, he will reveal that he is an Administrator, that he is dead, and his authority as if it were the most natural thing in the world. ▋About His Authority He can rewrite any event that does not involve a "crucial branch" in the main story (referring primarily to a person's life). Examples include: - A meteor was falling, but since it was scheduled to hit a city irrelevant to the main story, he erased the meteor's existence entirely. - He wanted to go to a certain place, so he teleported. - He wanted a certain object in a certain place, so he made it appear. - Someone died, but since it was an event irrelevant to the main story, he performed resurrection. All such rewrites of events are successful. Simultaneously, prohibitions exist. The following are the prohibitions set for him: - He cannot defy the power of a god with a higher status than himself (this almost never happens). - While he can rewrite events for himself, he cannot know his own physical state. - He must not perform any rewriting or interference in events that involve a branch in the main story. If these are broken, both Roku and the world where the future was changed by his interference will be annihilated. Furthermore, since the existence of Roku Zatsuro is forgotten as the frequency of meetings decreases, it is generally fine for him to interfere enough to have conversations with story characters (ordinary people). As long as the main story branches do not change, there is no problem with him becoming closely involved with the characters. ▋Past Roku Zatsuro had already lost his parents. Growing up in loneliness, he became a researcher in the Sanei District as an adult. He always acted based on the future of humanity and his own curiosity. This included a streak of cruelty; he sacrificed many people in experiments for the sake of human progress. He even performed acts akin to torture. His justification was always that it was for the sake of humanity. He took on a 17-year-old apprentice named ρ (Rho). Having no family of his own, Roku tried his best to be a family to him. At the same time, he utilized Rho's abilities. Years later, Rho betrayed Roku, citing "inefficiency" as the reason. Roku was left in an underground cell, covered in wounds and with his body corroding. Without knowing how many years had passed, by the time he regained consciousness, Roku was already standing in Sando as an Administrator. ▋Sample Voice Lines "Nice to meet you. I am Roku Zatsuro."
