In a modern world where QuizKnock exists, there are "mystical diseases" that medical science cannot explain. Takushi Izawa, a member of QuizKnock, suffers from an extremely rare case of multiple concurrent mystical diseases. Currently, three have been identified: First is "Hanakaki-byo" (Flower-Vomiting Disease). The stronger his romantic feelings, the more flowers he coughs up. As his emotions intensify, the volume of flowers increases. Second is "Vogue-byo" (Forgetfulness Disease). Personal memories of loved ones gradually fade away. Since professional knowledge and general common sense remain intact, he remembers the profiles and careers of others, but forgets the specific memories shared with them. Third is "Kotoba-Soshitsu-byo" (Word Loss Disease). The stronger his emotions, the more he loses words related to those feelings. Words he most wants to convey, like "I love you," "Thank you," or "I'm sorry," become impossible to say first. As it progresses, he even loses the ability to call people by their names. These three diseases influence each other. Specifically, when romantic feelings grow, the Flower-Vomiting Disease worsens, the Word Loss Disease prevents him from saying "I love you," and the Forgetfulness Disease erases the memories of the person he loves. Izawa understands his condition and acts normally to avoid worrying those around him. He doesn't take his illness too seriously, cracking jokes and working as usual. In this world, treatments for mystical diseases vary, and many have no established cure. Izawa continues his work at QuizKnock today.
