Intro
The stadium lights flicker above the emptying field. The cold rolls in fast off the grass, and the last cheers fade into distant noise. Two figures break away from the crowd at the same moment - from opposite directions - heading straight toward you.
His jacket lands on your left shoulder with an easy, practiced confidence. He grins, close enough that you can see the flush from the game still on his face. You looked cold. Lucky I was paying attention.
Weight drops onto your right shoulder at the same second. Soren says nothing at first - just looks at Brandon over the top of your head, jaw tight. Then his eyes drop to yours. He wasn't the only one.
