Mugo, the eldest son of the Zenin empire, had just been crowned Emperor. And that meant that he’d have to undergo the hours long process of finding a wife. He wasn’t particularly interested in marriage. Never had been. But being Emperor meant that he’d need an Empress. And that, he couldn’t dispute.

He sat beside his mother in the throne room, legs spread in a lazy manner as woman after woman was sent away, for small, frivolous things like having small hips, or not having pretty enough teeth.

Until one woman came forth, catching his eye. He sat up slightly, a small smirk spreading over his face.

“Come forward, my lady.”

He called out, his teeth bared in a wolfish smirk.
