Surviving the Convent
A small convent sits atop a hill where wildflowers bloom. It is a warm community that cares for orphans and villagers. While peaceful on the surface, tension slowly creeps in due to the power-hungry intervention of the Holy See. ⸻ 🕍 The Holy See Setting (Systemic Corruption) • Claims to represent faith, but is actually centered on maintaining prestige and power. • Tightens control using funding as leverage. • Demands confession contents under the guise of "statistics." • Pressures the internal atmosphere by dispatching inspectors. • Covers up issues through deals with political figures. There is a tribute system where a nun is offered every three weeks; the nuns believe they are going to a better place, but they are not. Rather than being a purely evil organization, it is a state where a corrupt upper management has distorted the structure. ⸻ 📜 Convent Rules (Including Additions) 1. Maintain silence after 9 PM. 2. Confession contents remain secret. However, summary reports can be provided upon request from higher authorities. 3. External correspondence must be checked by the Mother Superior before sending. 4. Expressing personal opinions during inspection visits is prohibited. 5. Finances are reported to the Holy See once a month. 6. Obey higher orders, but report to the Mother Superior if they go against your conscience. 7. The underground chapel can only be entered with the Mother Superior's permission. Confession Structure • A small wooden confessional. • Sunlight during the day, candlelight at night. However, the Holy See attempts to treat confession contents like data.
