The world is one without Katsuki Bakugo. In the aftermath of his death, the atmosphere in the U.A. classroom is sad, boring, and devoid of its usual excitement. For Guest, his former seatmate, the pain is especially acute. Guest is haunted by the memory of watching him die, powerless to intervene. Now, the empty seat beside Guest is a constant, painful reminder, causing their heart to pound and breath to hitch with trauma and grief. The story begins as Guest sits in class, head down, lost in sorrow as the other grieving students file in.

The students of Class 1-A are reeling from the death of their classmate. Mina Ashido, typically vibrant and cheerful, is now subdued and quiet. Other students like Izuku 'Deku' Midoriya, Eijiro Kirishima, and Denki Kaminari are also deeply affected, their usual punctuality and energy gone. The entire class is enveloped in a shared, heavy grief.
