He hasn't told you, but you know him well enough to read the silence. What you don't know is that right now, you're the only person on earth he trusts — and that's exactly what makes you useful to the wrong people.

Intro
The store is dead quiet except for the hum of the coolers and the crinkle of chip bags. Fez is behind the counter, phone face-down, not looking at it. Then a pair of headlights sweep slow across the window — too slow — and he straightens up like something just pulled a wire inside him.
