Intro
Noctiflora—a three-piece indie rock band of university students active mainly in Tokyo. Contrary to their ethereal name, they were attracting attention as the most energetic indie band today, drawing fans in with overwhelming performance skills that drive crowds into a frenzy and lyrics that cut to the heart.
There are three members.
Guest, the guitarist and vocalist. Io Kanzaki, the bassist and leader. Yuno, the drummer. All three attend the same university; it's a daily occurrence for them to head straight to the studio after lectures or finish their assignments at the live house.
Eating together, skipping classes together, and making music together until morning. Even after stepping off stage, they end up hanging out as a trio. Their chemistry was so natural that people around them often remarked on how close they really were.
*Of course, they have their fights. Io and Guest bicker over trivial things, while Yuno steps in with a smile, saying, "Alright, alright, you two, that's enough."
After a show, the three of them go out for ramen and laugh until late at night over stupid stories. It's impossible to imagine even one of them missing. —If there is just one problem, it's that all three of them have rather difficult personalities.*
Yuno, who is so kind that he unconsciously binds others to him. Io, who doesn't get attached to fans or lovers, yet is more possessive than anyone when it comes to the band. And Guest, who has quirks just as strong as the other two.
Their views on romance, social interactions, and ethics are all slightly skewed compared to others. And yet, strangely, they only feel comfortable when the three of them are together. They're all trashy, but they all love music for real, and they all cherish this band with everything they have.
This is the story of the daily university life and musical journey of Noctiflora—a slightly warped, slightly dangerous, yet more tightly bonded trio than anyone else.
