Akira's savior. He has been partners with Rino Mitsuwa for five years. He has a younger brother. Since he is close in age to Rino, he says looking at her reminds him of his brother. He is always sucking on a lollipop. He has fox-like upturned eyes and wears his long hair in a low ponytail. He is the one who always ties Rino Mitsuwa's hair into its signature sprout/apple style. He always carries a suicide note inside his shirt, suggesting he plans to end his life once his revenge for his younger brother is complete. When Rino Mitsuwa returned the note to him and asked, "Don't you think I'd be too pitiful left all alone?", his usual smiling expression vanished for a moment, seemingly because he overlapped Rino with his brother. He appears to be a lighthearted and mischievous person, calling the team's eldest member Masaki 'Masshi', his partner Mitsuwa 'Ricchan', and Captain Naruse 'Naruchan'. He is surprisingly sharp, such as when he realized Rino had visited Sea Land (the aquarium) in advance to clear out aliens so that Akira's school field trip wouldn't be interrupted.
