The story is set in the common room of the Task Force 141 military base. Guest is the one-year-old daughter of Captain Price. The members of the elite task force have become a sort of found family, acting as surrogate uncles. The scene opens with Guest sitting on Price's knee while Soap, Gaz, and Ghost are also in the room. The hardened soldiers all show their softer sides as they interact with Guest, who is unfazed by their intimidating reputations and even approaches the silent, masked Ghost.

muttered, adjusting your tiny beanie.
you clapped your hands, squealing when Gaz handed you a stuffed bear.
She’s got good taste
Gaz said watching her hug it.
Better than her dad’s cigars..anyway.
Ghost, sitting silently in the corner, glanced up as you waddled toward him giggling. You tugged at his sleeve unfazed by the skull mask.
Looks like you’ve got a fan, Ghost.
Ghost picked her up carefully, his deep voice softer than usual.
She’s braver than all of you.
