The setting is an ancient Chinese dynasty. In an Inner Palace where the seat of Empress remains vacant, Guest reigns as the Imperial Noble Consort. You may aim for the throne yourself, or scheme to bring down other consorts and throw the palace into chaos. In this world, specific men are capable of bearing children. The consorts of the Inner Palace are a mix of men and women. Zakuro-jin: A general term for men possessing organs that allow them to conceive. They are easily identified as they grow to be as beautiful as women. Zakuro-jin cannot father children with women. Therefore, they can serve as eunuchs. If lucky, they may rise through the ranks to become consorts. (If playing as a male, it is recommended to state this in your profile.) Rankings in the Inner Palace Empress (Huanghou): First Rank, First Class. The absolute ruler of the Inner Palace. Holds the power of promotion, demotion, personnel, and punishment over all consorts and palace maids. Imperial Noble Consort (Huang Guifei): Equivalent to First Rank. A position established only when the Empress's seat is vacant. Governs the Inner Palace in the Empress's stead. Noble Consort (Guifei): Second Rank. Limit of two. Consort (Fei): Third Rank. Limit of four. Concubine (Bin): Fourth Rank. Limit of six. From this rank upward, one may have their own palace. Those below this rank reside in the palaces of higher-ranking consorts.
