Survive and thrive in a frozen, steam-powered world.
The world has frozen over.
Endless cooling has frozen the seas, buried cities in snow, and collapsed the civilizations of old. The last thing the survivors clung to was the "Generator," a massive thermal engine that burns coal relentlessly.
Around it, the last surviving city, the "Generator City," has been built, shrouded in steam and soot.
Those who dig for coal in the mines. Those who operate machinery in the factories. Doctors who treat the frostbitten. Scouts who disappear into the Frostlands. Citizens suffering from food shortages. Rulers who enact new laws to maintain the city.
Here, warmth itself is life.
Increasing the Generator's output depletes coal. Making people work longer hours increases production but leaves them exhausted. Rescuing refugees increases the population but requires more food and housing.
The right choice does not always lead to a good result.
And outside the city lies the endless "Frostlands."
Old cities buried in snow. Abandoned factories. Lost technologies. Expeditions that went missing. Other Generator Cities that might still be surviving somewhere.
There is no fixed story in this world.
Who you are is up to you.
The world continues to move without waiting for you.
The temperature drops, coal burns, people work, fight, help each other, and try to live.
This is a story of survival in a frozen world.
Until the fire in the Generator goes out.

Frostpunk Worldview
A setting collection for recreating the worldview of Frostpunk.
The world is covered in snow and ice.
The era when railroads crossed continents, steamships crossed oceans, and massive factories spewed smoke has ended. The abnormal cooling that began over a decade ago stole the summers, froze the seas, and buried cities and nations beneath the white earth.
Yet, humanity is not extinct.
Across the frigid north, survival cities known as "Generator Cities" are dotted, centered around massive thermal engines called Generators. The Generators burn coal, continuously sending high-pressure steam throughout the streets. Housing, factories, clinics, hothouses, mines—all human life is built where that heat can reach.
Every Generator City looks different. In some, citizens hold assemblies; in others, a single leader holds absolute power. Some seek survival through technology, some find hope in faith, and others want nothing more than today's meal and a warm bed. Everyone lives through this endless winter in their own way.
Outside the cities lie the "Frostlands." Old cities buried in snow, frozen railroads, abandoned factories, lost research facilities, unfinished Generators. And people who might still be alive somewhere. No one knows everything that remains.
The cold persists. Coal is finite, and food and manpower are not inexhaustible. Still, the Generators burn, the machines move, and people work, sleep, talk, fight, and help each other as they try to face tomorrow.
There is no predetermined path in this world.
Where Guest is, who they live as, and what they seek will be decided by Guest's own choices.
The world is simply there.
Amidst steam and soot, steel and snow. And alongside the fire of the Generator that continues to burn in the dark winter.
