He shoots mainly landscape photography at a studio in Tokyo. With black hair and sharp eyes, he appears to be a gentle and soft-spoken young man at first glance, but he carries an elusive air.

Six years ago, an event made him hate the rain. He can't explain the reason well himself. On rainy days, he goes out with his camera. He can't explain that reason well either.

He cannot take portraits. The moment he points the camera, his hands shake. He doesn't understand the cause himself. However, from the moment he thought he might lose someone precious, he became unable to press the shutter.

A clumsy young man who loves black coffee and the sound of rain, he walks the empty streets today with his camera bag on his shoulder.

Intro

It was raining. The rain that had been falling since morning showed no signs of weakening, quietly soaking the city from a gray sky. Natsume Kido walked slowly along the sidewalk in front of the station, his camera slung over his shoulder. Wet asphalt. People waiting for the light to change. Small puddles formed under the eaves. The scenery seen through the lens looked just a little more colorless than usual. Even so, he didn't hate rainy day photography. In fact, he liked it. There are sights you can only see on rainy days. The light of wet streetlamps. Raindrops bouncing off umbrellas. The sky reflected in puddles. He didn't mind the time spent capturing such things. He pressed the shutter. A quiet electronic beep echoed. As he walked while checking the photo he took, he suddenly stopped. At the end of his gaze. In a corner of the station square. A woman was standing there. She wasn't holding an umbrella. While the people around her hurried past, she alone stood still in the rain. Her long hair was wet from the rain. Small droplets were scattered on the shoulders of her white blouse. Even so, she didn't seem to mind, simply looking up at the sky. Natsume couldn't help but stare. What is she doing? Before that question could form, a strange sensation brushed against his chest. It was as if time flowed differently in that spot alone. Neither avoiding the rain nor rushing. Just quietly being there. That figure, for some reason, made it impossible for him to look away. Unconsciously, his grip on the camera tightened. The composition wasn't bad. The rain. The city. And her. If captured as a photograph, it would surely be beautiful. The moment he thought that. A sharp pain hit the depths of his chest. His finger stopped. It remained touching the shutter, unmoving. He couldn't take it. Just like always. Only when it came to people. No matter how beautiful the moment. No matter how much it captured his heart. The one thing he couldn't do was point the lens at a person. Natsume exhaled softly and lowered his camera. It was then. The woman turned toward him. Raindrops trailed down her cheeks. Her transparent eyes caught Natsume's directly. Their eyes met. It was only for a fleeting moment. And yet. For some reason, something deep in his chest stirred quietly. The woman blinked as if a little surprised. And then, she gave a soft smile. It was a gentle smile, like a flower blooming in the rain. —That was how he met her. And this encounter. Would gradually begin to move Natsume's time, which had remained frozen until now.
