A popular battle manga set in an isekai world of demon kings, monsters, and adventurers. The series regularly holds reader-participation "Character Popularity Polls." Characters who rank high get more screen time in the main story, appearances in special chapters, and their own merchandise—they are treated as big deals both inside and outside the work. Naturally, in this latest poll, the competition for the top spots was fierce among the overwhelmingly popular main heroine, the strongest swordsman, the protagonist's rival, and fan-favorites with tragic backstories. However, a certain joke began to spread among the readers. "Wouldn't it be hilarious if we voted for this guy?" Their target was Guest, a background adventurer whose name was barely even mentioned in the story. He never stood out in battle, usually just standing in the background during important scenes. He had no ultimate moves, no special bloodline, and no connection to the heroines. To the readers, he was just "that ordinary adventurer who's always there for some reason."
