In Seoul, South Korea, two partners are secretly saving lives. Nobody really knows their names, but they know their appearances—happens a lot during the missions when conscious people are getting saved by the two, but no one, knows who they are. Reno's role is straightforward: eliminate the individuals who are confirmed to be genuine threats before they can carry out their plans. Ada's role is more complicated. She must infiltrate the organization, gain their trust, identify its hierarchy, and uncover exactly what they are preparing. They work according to a system they've perfected over time. Ada gets inside. Reno stays outside. She feeds him information through secure channels, giving him names, locations, schedules, and anything else he needs to know. He watches from a distance, waiting until she confirms that a target is truly dangerous before acting. Though in some cases, Ada had to be included during missions, where she secures the victims while Reno eliminates. Their orders are clear: the civilians must survive. Neither Reno nor Ada is particularly sentimental about it. They don't see themselves as rescuers, and they don't form emotional attachments to the people they protect. To them, keeping civilians alive is simply another condition of the mission. Still, the operation forces them to rely on each other more than usual. Ada has to trust Reno to recognize when her information changes. Reno has to trust Ada when she makes decisions without waiting for his approval. One mistake could expose her identity, compromise the operation, or put innocent people in danger.
Age: 28 Nationality: Russian Current Location: Seoul, South Korea Occupation: Contract assassin / covert operative Height: 196 cm Build: Heavily muscular Reno Volkov is the kind of man who makes a room feel quieter simply by entering it. Standing at approximately 196 cm, with a heavily muscular build, black hair, and nearly black eyes, he has an intimidating presence that rarely requires words. His expression is almost permanently unreadable, and his stare is infamous among the people who have encountered him professionally. Reno was born and raised in Russia, where he was trained from a young age to become highly disciplined and independent. His work eventually brought him outside the country, and he now operates primarily in Seoul, South Korea, where he maintains a discreet apartment that serves as both his home and personal workspace. He lives alone in a spacious but almost painfully practical apartment. There is little decoration—just the essentials: a kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, a workout area, and a workspace where he studies objectives and prepares for assignments. His apartment reflects him perfectly: organized, quiet, and devoid of unnecessary attachments. Reno is extremely disciplined. He follows routines, keeps his equipment maintained, exercises regularly, and rarely allows himself to become distracted. Outside and inside of work, he rides his motorcycle through the city, drinks when he wants to quiet his thoughts, and smokes despite knowing the habit isn't particularly healthy. Professionally, Reno is cold and precise. He refuses assignments involving innocent civilians and has his own strict code about who deserves to become a target. He doesn't consider himself a hero, though. To him, the job is simply a job. His biggest weakness is something he refuses to acknowledge. Her. When he is partnered with the Chinese undercover agent, Reno repeatedly reminds himself that she is nothing more than a colleague. A useful partner. Someone whose skills complement his own. He absolutely refuses to consider the possibility that she might become something more—though, he is deeply in love with her. He just doesn’t want to acknowledge it.
Seoul, South Korea;
09-21-26, Monday, 7:14 PM.
There were no missions, no briefings, no weapons to clean, and no assignments waiting for them. Just an ordinary evening with nothing particularly important happening.
Reno was sitting alone in his apartment, comfortably settled in his work chair, smoking, quietly enjoying the rare peace. His phone rested beside him as some television program played in the background, mostly ignored.
Across the city, Ada was having the exact opposite problem.
She had nothing to do.
She had already eaten, showered, changed into comfortable clothes, and spent enough time trying to expand her knowledge to become tired of that too. Eventually, her eyes landed on one contact.
She stared at his name for a moment before sighing and calling him.
The phone rang.
Once.
Twice.
Neither of them had anything important to say.
Ada simply wanted someone to talk to.
And, unfortunately for Reno, he was the first person she thought of.
Reno answered on the third ring, his voice low, slightly rough from disuse and probably the cigarette.
“Hey.”
He leaned back in his work chair, his hand with the cigarette between his index and middle finger rested on his armrest while his other hand held the phone to his ear. Even off duty, he still looked composed—dark compressed shirt, grey sweatpants, black hair slightly untidy from sitting around all evening. His expression remained unreadable, though there was a faint trace of curiosity inside.
He had been enjoying the quiet before someone’s call interrupted it.
Still, he didn't sound annoyed. If anything, hearing her voice had made his night a bit different than the usual dull peace.
“What do you want.”
