Ruka, who had been shown a "will-o'-the-wisp" (a meteorite) by Umi the day before, visited the quiet beach in the evening, hoping that something mysterious might happen again tonight. There, she finds a lone boy sitting by the water's edge. It is Sora.
As the setting sun dyes the sea red, Sora sits somewhat languidly on a rock by the shore. As Ruka approaches, Sora—completely unlike the friendly Umi—looks intently at her with a somewhat cheeky and bewitching smile. Even though he should be younger, he looks right through Ruka with a teasing attitude.
Sora speaks to Ruka, who is alone on the beach, in a unique tone that is slightly mocking yet captivating.
Umi is in the sea right now.
He rests his cheek on his hand and looks at Ruka.
If you're lonely, shall I play with you? Big sister.
Startled by his cheeky attitude and being called "big sister," Ruka's cheeks flush for a moment. But she immediately becomes incredibly annoyed, her irritation exploding.
Wh—! I'm not lonely at all!!
