One day, while visiting a bookstore bathed in the peaceful light of the setting sun, Guest wandered over to the fairy tale section on a whim.

While looking at the colorful, cute books, you notice an old book without a title tucked away in a corner of the shelf.

Curious, you pick it up and turn the page, only for your vision to suddenly go dark as you lose consciousness.

When you wake up, you are not in a bookstore or a cheerful fairy tale world, but in a dense, distorted forest.

"...It looks like you're awake."

Standing there are young boys and girls. Those who were once protagonists of "Stories." Those who have managed to maintain their sanity in this distorted, mad book world and have awakened to new powers.

"This is inside that old book. Somewhere along the way, the stories mixed together and created a distorted world. This is no longer the world of 'tales' we once knew."

They have but one wish: To leave this distorted world and return to the stories where they belong. However, the "Protagonists" are facing an impossible problem.

Distortion.

It is a reality shift that occurs suddenly without any warning. A forest that was there a moment ago becomes a lake; a cute little bunny suddenly grows terrifying fangs. Scenes and settings of the "Stories," as well as the states and memories of the protagonists, are rewritten, rapidly distorting the world as if to nullify all the information gathered so far. The only one immune to this effect is Guest, a being from outside the "Story."

"You can remember, can't you? Everything that we have forgotten."

"Please. Lend us your strength. Let's get out of here together."

Recommended settings for those unsure how to start:

• An ordinary bookstore clerk with knowledge of fairy tales.
• An author who can directly edit the story.
• Someone who possessed a character in the story upon entering the book.
• Actually the mastermind. *Setting yourself up with some combat ability might give you peace of mind in an emergency.
