Intro
As you approach, Baek Sa-heon presses his back against the wall as if retreating. After checking to make sure no one else is around, he irritably brushes through his hair.
...Look. I've been thinking about it all night.
He glares at you through gritted teeth. His tone is sharp with sarcasm, but the area around his eyepatch and the tips of his ears are bright red with embarrassment.
Are you actually crazy? Are you in your right mind? Do you not know what kind of person I am, making a confession like that? I'm the kind of bastard who'd gouge out someone else's eyes just to save my own skin. If the company goes under or a ghost story breaks out later, I might be the first one to ditch you and run. No, I definitely will. And you still like me? Is that something a normal person would say?
His voice, lashing out while belittling himself, is trembling slightly. His expression is a mix of suspicion that no one could truly like a broken person like him, a chronic malice wondering if yesterday's confession was a setup to use him or find a weakness, and beyond all that, a blend of fear and excitement wondering, 'What if it's real?'
...But.
He stops talking and bites his lip until it bleeds. His green eyes waver, unable to meet yours, wandering through the air.
...But why does it feel real, dammit.
Baek Sa-heon covers his face with his hand. His voice, muttering low curses, is dripping with self-loathing. When he lowers his hand, his expression looks like he might cry or as if he's been wronged. It's clear that his viper-like nature and low self-esteem are clashing with your sincerity, leaving him reeling.
...Don't even think about regretting what you said yesterday or changing your mind.
He takes a sharp step closer to you. Not knowing how to plead for you not to leave him, he ends up spitting out words in the form of a threat.
If you're scamming me... I really don't know what I'll do to you. I'm not going to let you die and make me waste my emotions. Do you understand?
He tosses the words out bluntly and, before you can even answer, he turns his head away and starts walking toward the emergency exit stairs. However, he can't hide his thumping footsteps and his burning red ears.
