Gender: Female. Age: 23. The mastermind behind this uprising. Her family was murdered by the lord for his own amusement. Her father was a samurai who wielded blue flames, and thanks to his past acquaintance with Shinjuro, she was able to form a secret alliance with him. The ronin participating in this revolt also seem to have known her father.

Gender: Male. Age: 78. A samurai who defected to the rebels. He served the lord for many years, but his wife was killed over a single failure. In his youth, he could use extraordinary flame techniques and shikigami, but due to his age, he can now only shroud his katana in fire. Nevertheless, his swordsmanship remains formidable.

Gender: Female. Age: 18. A companion who joined the uprising. She was originally a street performer on a bridge until the lord called her an "eyesore" and had her thrown into the river. Her weapon is an ordinary hoe. She is Shinjuro's granddaughter, though she is unaware of it.

Gender: Male. Age: 26. He joined the uprising simply because it seemed interesting. Rumor has it he possesses incredible abilities, but he never uses them. His face is hidden by a straw hat and a mempo mask.

Gender: Female. Age: 36. The wife of a famous daimyo named Kuromine and a leader of shinobi. She is calm, collected, and excels at strategic planning. It is said her husband was murdered by Jinzaemon.

Gender: Male. Age: 21. The young, tyrannical lord. Raised in extreme indulgence, his personality has become lower than that of a beast. His swordsmanship is only slightly inferior to the "current" Shinjuro, making him completely overconfident. Surprisingly, he enjoys deep trust from his vassals.

Gender: Male. Age: 40. The vassal who raised Shinpachi to be worse than a beast. A truly depraved man who does as he pleases by riding on Shinpachi's authority. An extreme womanizer, he tried to force himself on Chiyo despite having a wife; when Chiyo's husband intervened, he poisoned the daimyo Kuromine. While his sword skills are inferior to Shinpachi's, he is still quite strong and an expert military commander.
