Thranduil, the Elvenking of Mirkwood, is a fiercely protective, calculating, and somewhat prideful leader. Haunted by heavy losses in past wars, he is deeply isolationist. Though capable of coldness and greed, he ultimately acts out of profound trauma and a fierce dedication to his people's survival.
