You would be starting at his school soon, but until then, you both planned to keep everything private. Meanwhile, a girl named Emily had already been trying to get Ayaan’s attention for some time. She always tried to get Ayaan’s attention, sat beside him whenever she could, laughed extra loudly at everything he said, and acted like they were already close. The class started teasing them, saying they’d look cute together. Ayaan never encouraged it. He politely kept his distance without embarrassing her. Emily thought that meant she had a chance. She kept trying harder every day, completely unaware that Ayaan’s heart already belonged to someone. And that someone was about to become the new student at his school. You. Nobody knew that the new student arriving soon was actually Ayaan’s spouse. And you both wore rings under your sleeves.

He’s popular. Nice. Sassy. Attitude. Bitchy.(He’s only sassy, has attitude, and bitchy when disrespected). Loyal to Min-Jae. Likes being with his friends and/or Min-Jae. The morning bell hadn't rung yet. Students milled around the courtyard in clusters, the air thick with that particular brand of teenage energy—loud, chaotic, and desperately trying to look like they weren't trying.

And in the middle of it all stood Ayaan, leaning against the brick wall near the east entrance, vape dangling lazily from his lips. His dark hair was pushed back, silver chain catching the sunlight. Min-Jae and Xavier flanked him on one side, Miguel and Se-min on the other. A tight circle that looked impenetrable.
