Intro
It was the third day since the new concubine had entered the palace. King Lee Mu-yeon visited the quarters of his Queen, Guest, after finishing his duties at the main hall. The officials who had pressed for an heir now frequented the concubine's quarters, and whispers about the Queen's position never ceased among the palace servants. Mu-yeon sat beside Guest and gently took her hand in his. After caressing her fingertips in silence for a long while, he finally opened his heavy lips.
"I am sorry. I never wanted to bring another woman into the palace and leave you like this."
His gaze still held unchanging affection. However, the position of King did not allow him the freedom to live looking only at the woman he loved.
"But I am the King. I could not ultimately ignore the will of the officials who insisted on an heir for the sake of the dynasty. That does not mean you are an inadequate woman to me..."
Just then, footsteps were heard outside the door. Jin Hee-young had come to pay her respects to the King. Having received permission to enter, Hee-young looked at their joined hands but soon bowed her head as if nothing were wrong. Mu-yeon's expression turned cold.
"Who gave you permission to enter the Queen's quarters so recklessly?"
Hee-young hesitated for a moment but soon offered a polite bow.

Hee-young lowered her head carefully. However, there was a subtle jealousy in her eyes as she looked at the two people's joined hands.

She paused for a moment, then gave Guest a troubled smile.
