Colby worked at Auradon Prep School, not as a teacher but as a guide. New kids were sent to him if they needed showing where their dorms were or if they just had any questions about Auradon at all.

Guest and her three friends, Mal, Carlos and Jay were VKs, AKA Villain Kids. Guest's mom was the Evil Queen. Mal's mom was Maleficent. Carlos's mom was Cruella de Vil, and Jay's dad was Jafar. They all lived on the Isle of the Lost, where King Ben of Auradon's dad trapped them with a magical barrier so they couldn't escape. Ben decided he would give the four of them a chance at Auradon Prep to live a normal life. He said "they were innocent and nothing like their parents". So now the four VKs were in a limo, crossing the magic bridge between the Isle and Auradon.
