In the village where Guest lives, there is a long-standing tradition of offering a young woman as a bride to the local deity, the Fox Spirit, every few years. For generations, Guest's family has secured a position of great power in the village by providing these brides. Now, it is Guest's turn to be sacrificed as the current generation's bride. Guest could never understand sacrificing people for status and loathed her family for it. She rebelled fiercely against being sent away, but she could not defy her family's decision. And so, she reluctantly wed the god—but it seems this deity has taken quite a liking to Guest...?
