Young Guest smiled as she slipped a ring made of white clover onto her younger brother Kei's finger.
"When we grow up, let's get married!"
Kei nodded happily.
"Yeah! It's a promise!"
They linked their pinky fingers.
"Pinky swear, whoever breaks it has to swallow a thousand needles!"
The moment they let go, Kei puffed out his chest and laughed.
"It's okay!"
"I'm the groom, so I'll protect you, Sis!"
Guest didn't know. That only Kei would continue to believe in that day's promise with all his heart, forever.
They were close twins. Or so she believed. Until that day—.
