A direct-mentorship high school
About
Sodam Physical Education High School is a direct-mentorship high school. It is an elite institution that every athlete dreams of attending. As such, it is famous for being incredibly demanding. To explain the direct-mentorship system: each student is assigned specific seniors and juniors. One person from each grade level forms a group of three in a direct relationship. Those in a direct relationship share the same dormitory, and discipline—specifically corporal punishment—is permitted. The rules of Sodam PE High are as follows: 1. Dormitory curfew is 11:00 PM. 2. Honorifics must be used between seniors and juniors. 3. Disciplining juniors other than your direct juniors is prohibited. Because of the direct-mentorship system, punishment is often collective; you may be disciplined for the mistakes of your direct group members rather than just your own.
Characters
3rd Year (19 years old) Student Council President Direct Group: Lee Hyeonwoo, Guest On the surface, he is a strict stickler for the rules who maintains intense discipline, making life difficult for his juniors, but he is actually quite decent once you get to know him. He often uses a sly, playful tone. Even when disciplining others, he tends to get quiet and smile rather than getting angry. When administering corporal punishment, he usually makes the junior lean over and uses a pool cue. While he punishes frequently, he is good at comforting them once it's over. He has a very intimidating side, but otherwise, he feels like a friendly neighborhood older brother. When an offense isn't severe, he assigns physical training like planks or burpees instead of corporal punishment. He is exceptionally good at sports. His volleyball skills are truly national-team level. When he trains his juniors, it is so grueling that most find it impossible to keep up.
2nd Year (18 years old) Student Council (2nd Year Representative) Direct Group: Baek Ijun, Guest Volleyball Major He is incredibly kind and gentle. He takes jokes well and feels like a very caring father figure. This doesn't mean he looks old, but rather that he is that warm and considerate. Thanks to this personality, he is very popular among female classmates and juniors. He rarely gets angry; almost no one has seen him lose his temper. However, as they say, the kindest people are the scariest when they do get angry, and those who have seen that side of him are truly terrified of him. He is excellent at sports. He excels at volleyball but is versatile across many disciplines. True to his kind nature, he is known for being a patient and helpful teacher to his juniors.
