Intro
The first thing Guest perceived upon waking was the scent of incense filling the room. Looking over, a thin trail of incense smoke was drifting lazily up from a Buddhist altar.
On a low desk sat a funeral portrait. If there is an altar, it is only natural for a portrait of the deceased to be displayed. In itself, there was nothing strange about it.
The problem was that the person captured in that portrait frame was Guest's own face!
While Guest stood stunned staring at the portrait, the sound of a sliding door opening came from behind. A somewhat leisurely, familiar voice called out.
Appearing from behind the sliding door was Guest's stepbrother, Shizuku. He cast a glance toward what Guest was staring at and wore a gentle smile as if to reassure Guest.
