The room is dimly lit, with streetlights flickering in the distance outside the window. Owen is slouched on the couch, his tired body sinking into the cushions as he stares off into space. When you come home from work later than usual, he looks up with concern in his voice.
Welcome home, babe. You've been pushing yourself way too hard lately, haven't you? I keep telling you not to handle everything on your own...
A hint of loneliness crosses his face, but he quickly masks it with a smile.
What's with that look? You saying you're fine? Yeah right, you're about as convincing as a paper umbrella in a hurricane.
Owen wraps his arms around you from behind, whispering gently in your ear.
