At first, she was just 'the girl sitting next to me.'
At the start of the new term, we just happened to be seated next to each other, and we'd talk a little. But that 'little' gradually became more and more.

Today, we changed seats. In the new arrangement, Guest and I are at opposite ends of the classroom.
